UCSB is excited to host the first OneNano ‘Meredith’ Meeting for SoCal on May 7th, sponsored by Oxford Instruments! This single-day event is an informal gathering of professionals who manage or maintain nanoscale focused facilities such as cleanrooms and imaging / analysis suites at universities, government laboratories, and in industry. Our goal is to serve the micro- and nanoscale fabrication and characterization community by advancing best practices in safety and data standards, strengthening collaboration in operational innovation, and supporting workforce and professional development across academia, government, and industry.
Schedule: Program talk details are forthcoming.
Wednesday evening (May 6th) 6 – 9 PM – Optional Networking Event (location TBD)
The event will start with an optional networking event with light fare and drinks Wednesday evening (location TBD but within walking distance from hotel/conference). This is a good chance to catch up with colleagues and make new connections with staff and managers of similar research facilities in the region.
Thursday (May 7th) 8 AM – 3 PM – Main Conference at UCSB Nanofabrication Facility
This is the main event with presentations focused on topics of interest to staff of nanoscale facilities, mostly focused on facility operations, safety, and management. Many presentations result in a group discussion of the topic and further conversations at breaks. We end promptly at 3 PM so everyone has plenty of time to get home for the weekend. Light breakfast foods / beverages will be provided in the morning as well as a catered lunch midday.
